I'm going for 2 sworks renegade 1.95 hope it works for me

Everyone I spoke to warned me about s-works tyres' sidewalls being helluva soft...

I did it on slicks way back, if it is dry it is more than OK and I am not the worlds most skilled bike handler.

I have not been over that pass when dry

It gave me the heebie jeebies in the rain in a car

HaHa, I remember in 2004 having to take my new Epic back to some Troll in Midrand to have the pads and sommer disks replaced after the grinding they took on the downhills.

Hi Eddy, I did this one only once some time ago and I will never forget that the one downhill was 15km long and I managed speeds there above 45km/h, I was on a Full suspension 26er back then. After a while one could smell the brakes!

What about the renegade control only 60g more but better sidewall

These are probably the best option for going fast:

THUNDER BURT

LIGHTNING FAST WITH THUNDER BURT

The tire development goal was to combine the best of Racing Ralph and Furious Fred. At less than 400 g, the weight is almost exactly in the middle. With its many small lugs Thunder Burt is close on the heels of Racing Ralph regarding grip and in terms of rolling resistance he is even better than Furious Fred.

400g for a tire!? Are you crazy!? Sidewalls must be like toilet paper.

If I were doing this and it were dry I'd be on Rock Razors. Nothing less than their snakeskin versions, and most probably on the super gravity casing just for extra puncture prevention. If it was wet, then magic Mary front and rock razor rear.

These DO look like well scrubbed Ralphs... which is handy as it's the hoop covers I currently have on.

Remember as fast as you can go on your tires,as fast must they be able to slow you down and Mr Thunder Burt ain't looking like it gonna slow you down in a hurry.
