Wez-O Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I had a rant 2 weeks ago about how poorly organised the D2D race was. R300 for no motor bike marshals, inadequate marshaling at turns, no race packs, a rubbish finishing area and so and so... On the contrast, the Race 4 Victory was only R230 and did all of the above brilliantly well while also giving money to charity... AND with chocolate milk at the finish line! Hows that for a bonus My only minor gripe is that the gravel sand section was a little hair raising with the loose soft sand in sections. Next year I'll definitely do this race again while giving the Krugersdorp race a miss!
W@nna-BE Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 i even had a bike marshal hand me a water sachet after i gave mine to a lady in pink cyclelab kit because she dropped hers
Alfa147GTA Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Great event. Did 2h53 and that was with breaking collarbone as we entered that dirt section. To the two guys that hit me and subsequently also fell, really sorry. I hit that soft sand and it just sucked my wheel. Nothing I could do. Great riding everyone
Hennie VR Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Bradley, one of the guys who was working Hard in the B Bunch, Orange kit, felt very badly as we hit the Gravel section, missed riding over him by centimeters with some other guys, than I saw him at the finish. Kudo's buddy.... Damm, so he was the guy that went down. Glad to hear he could still finish as it looked like a serious tumble.
Hennie VR Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 (I was the cyclist in the black PSG/ASG kit) I was in the same bunch as you (red/white Grenade kit) Jip. definitely remember you two.So many hubbers in BL, we could have had our own bunch.
