This is not a stage race where you want to attract media coverage or create diversion for a team mate or where you have another day to catch up. So he must have calculated his move well.

I struggle to understand Louis' tactics there. Burnt a whole bunch of matches for no clear objective...

Louis back in main peloton. Now one Frenchie has a go on his own. Team Australia has been controlling the peloton all along.

Three others get away to join the Frenchie. So a new break has formed, but team Australia still drive the peloton not far behind, very much in control it seems to me.
