Bike Racks

Hi there fellow hubbers,

 

I am in the market for a bike rack - looking for a minimum 3 bike carrier but a 4 bike will be a bonus.

Saw a couple of different makes; Thule - (Uber expensive), Buzz Rack (also fairly pricey) and then I came across Menabo. The project 3 and the Race 4. Prices seem good, also one available on OLX for cheap.

Are they any good, are there fellow hubbers that are using any Menabo products? Verdicts and advice please........

works like a charm but you can't fit 3 MTB's without removing the seatposts. 3 road bikes no problem.

Proper heavy duty rack with no fancy plastic parts. Bikes very stable and easy to load.

I had a Menabo, had a couple of quality issues, ended up selling it for cheap - I'd rather get a Thule.

I have a Project 2 tilting. Bikes are too close together, so I had to modify it a bit. Regardless, the quality is OK for the price. These racks are not made for SA roads, and even less gravel roads. My tail light housing tore from the brackets on the gravel road to Hogsback.

 

I would rather spend R2000 more and get a Buzzrack, and the EZ racks look good as well.

I have a Buzzrack (Mosquito), got mine new for under R1000 and it works 100%.

Have a Winny 3 bike. Works like a charm, half the price of a Thule, so that makes up for not being as "fancy".

I have had the Buzzrack Buzzy Bee 4 for over a year, and I still wouldn't buy anything else

I use Thule.  It's solid and holds the bikes perfectly. Costs more, but you get complete peace of mind.
