I will probably get flamed, but here goes:

I see this as a parody and in fact it is probably doing exactly what was intended.

1. Getting people talking around the biggest race in Jhb. 

2. Getting people talking about 947

3. Getting people talking about cycling safety.

 

What more do we want? The exposure being generated is awesome! Just think this competition could have had a nondescript winner and nothing more would have happened.

 

But now..... I say good on you for raising the awareness!! the method may be questionable, but the result is awsome.

I think we need tougher legislation to protect cyclists. These guys that knock us over actually need to end up spending some time in jail. Just as women and children are the vulnerable members of society we are most vulnerable on the roads. A driver saying "oops, i did not see you..." is as stupid as a man saying "sorry, I did not hear you say no."
