Did the half, not the most enthralling route - but had its challenges, mainly because I haven't ridden in 3 weeks, and the head/cross winds on the short climbs - still managed a sub 2 though. So my seeding should at least go up a bit

I didn't have any traffic issues, cycled to the event so took me 15-20 min to get home

Did anyone experience the little shocks if you touched any metal/alu part of your bike when passing underneath the electricity pylons or high voltage cables - I almost had a lie down on the one downhill because I couldn't touch the brake

Thanks - I am interested to know their response.

The race was, in my opinion, the quickest of the series. Although the route was not technical, it became challenging when taking it at speed. Finished the marathon in just over 02:40:00 with a technical, looking forward to the 2015 series to push it harder!2:40

2:40 is a seriously good time, Must say I am not to fit at the moment but was tired after 1;43 on the half also must say there was enjoyable sections of single track if done at speed but still struggling with the rough/stoney sections of downhill where i just slow down and loose time

In theory the detail you have mentioned of shocks is not possible by just riding underneath power lines. The concept you describe is called induction and is only possible if you have cable wrapped around your frame ( i would have to do calcs that i would have to re learn to establish the voltage generated). If you have wrapped a whole herd of cables around your frame to take up extra lengths that  you could have cut to the right length, you may have had some current flowing, everything else i have forgotten ......

Sorry don't know the correct terminology   - felt it between my leg and the saddle rail, and top tube, and then on the brake leaver - not sure what to call it, but it felt like little shocks or a little burn. Spoke to a friend afterwards he said he also felt it.

Thanks for the info though

The bundu bash was a lot flatter and quicker than the down n dirty.

According to strava : bundu bash 41.8 km and down & dirty 36.9 km

Was 2 min quicker on the bundu bash . For down & dirty felt harder.

Its called static electricity and yes, you will get a bit of static build up on your bike while under the 275kV lines.

I'm still waiting for a response from Advendurance regarding the T-shirts...

They must be very busy at the moment with getting times in and all that nonsense.

I see they have sorted out the parking problems for next year - there is no event scheduled here for next year.

Hmm that's not really sorting it out, Kinda like when a bus drives into a dam carrying school kids and our president says it will never happen again because he will drain all the dams of the water.
