Couldn't agree more. Especially considering more than a few of the experienced grand tour riders are saying this year was the hardest first week they've ever had, and it's getting harder - not better.

And all because Astana and Tinkoff have been hammering every day, esp. Astana. And the top of the GC is packed with their riders - like they're all on a level higher than everyone else.

It was so obvious to everyone in the know during the US Postal (not for the rest of us innocent plebs, has to be said). But now that we've been burnt once before, it's very understandable that people are being very cynical about what seems to be a serious case of deja vu.

If they keep this up through to the end of the Giro, then I will be 100% convinced they're not riding on bread and water.

So will everyone else with any common sense.

I agree....

Lets see it as it is.... US postal was like a "train" ..... whereby their "domestiques" was riding with or dropping ther main contenders.... now SKY is doing this and ASTANA is doing this...

One can look at riders "leaving other teams" and once they join SKY or ASTANA they suddenly become "super strong inhumanely domestiques".... why is this??? Can there be such a big difference in training on that level....???

Alberto contador was always knows as a fighter and we all have to agree hes not what he use to be.... if he was DOPING then surely hell blow every one of their bikes EVERY TIME... as lance turned from a non-climber to a climber / time trail etc.

SKY is following that trend more than any other team, but now ASTANA seems to have the same.... where do they buy their bread from ????

Anyway i hope the cheats gets caught sooner than later!

I have always been convinced Alberto doesnt dope, if he does or have i dont see an INCREASE in hes ability / talent!

I was typing the exact same respone

Indeed, 'Berto has been "Man alleen" on the final climbs of all the stages so far, I think people have short memories, .... 2012 TDF.

Anyway, I enjoyed yesterdays stage, Tinkoff and BMC putting the hammer down to try and split the peleton and secure a few seconds, and then 'Berto testing the waters a bit later and it was interesting to see Mikel Landa was the rider who bridged over first not Aru, this guy is looking really in form and he has the pedaling action of a Wiggins, smooth and effortless, watch him a bit, I recon he is the biggest threat at the moment.

I also dont think Aru will lose that much time, it appears he has been working hard on his TT skills the past year, he can afford a minute or so loss and still be well in contention. I havent looked very hard but I cant find much on Mikel Landa's TT ability so that will be interesting.

'Berto will have to have an absolute shocker of a TT to lose the jersey on Sat. so it will all be down to the high mountains, personally I think Aru and Landa are very strong, but they haven't won a grand tour, 'Berto has, plenty, and he knows how to go about it, that experience will be vital next week as I expect Astana will throw the kitchen sink at him.

That has to be an impostor

I dig him.. he is always at the back, then when you look again he is at the front again.. and so it goes on the whole day.

Same here, classy bike rider with a whole lot of interesting ways to race (tweeting while on his bike, chatting to other teams DS's, etc). Lyk soos 'n lekker ou!
