Keeping Energy

Or his recovery drink can be a Heineken.

After he has drunk his bottle of water for the ride.

Kinda like a reward for the effort.

Having not been able to go as long or hard during the actual exercise, and not recovering as quickly afterwards. If he'd like to do that, then of course there's no issue, but he enquired about improving his performance on the bike.

Hi

I'm a budget rider.

When mtbing and around the 20 km area I start to lose power and start to slow down..

How can I keep the power up?

What should I be drinking and what are good snacks..

Thanks

Bananas!!!

Cheap and a fast yet good form of energy.

Just ride more. It will come..... You need to build up to the longer distances. When I started I barely made it out the driveway.

I realise that this advice might actually make sense but it is still early and Friday is only tomorrow........

Banana, half a peanut butter sarmie and sweat in your eyes. Perfect cycling combo

You need Energade to wash it down.....

I saw an advert and apparently wish Energade you basically don't even need to train! Just hop on the bike, drink and race!!!

To OP

Do you have a good breakfast

How far do you ride when you ride

How often do you ride.

For anything under a 2hr ride at a budget pace you only need some water.

Have a Sterrie Stumpie or two after your ride

The key is the 3P's or PPP

Practice - practice - practice

Hmm maybe there is something else in that energade. If I had known this I wouldn't get up at 0400 every morning to train my backside off. Id rely on energade and rest.....

Solid advice this. You have just freed up my weekends with stupid training.

Brilliant! I'm cancelling that early morning alarm and staying up later to catch up on all the series of Oprah I downloaded last week
