Tothehills Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Hubland stage race experts Any recommendations on stage races for 2015 in the first quarter (before may 2015). Some of my criteria are as follows: 1. Costs. A race that does not require a 2nd mortgage or selling off a kidney 2. Duration. Around 3-5 days. 3. Location. I'm JHB based and can travel on a tight budget 4. Solo or Partner. Have a hectic work schedule. Training preparation with a partner could be difficult. Have heard some horror stories about partnerships. Any recommendations will be welcome.

Skubarra Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 If you can work a ticket to Cape Town into your budget do the Tankwa Trek in Feb - I have only heard good things from it and I am planning to do it 2015 There is also a new one in April Gravel and Grape which is cheap - but no one can say at this stage whether it will be a hit or miss. Other options I can quickly think of Garden Route 300 & Ride the Rock

That's a bloody long wait, particularly if you're itching to do a stage race. There are also smaller stage races that are sometimes just off one's radar. I have various time constraints, work is one, and the other one has to do with family planning. If I manage to get one past the goalie at some stage, my time will be no more.

I have not yet done any, well did the cradle trophy this year but that was just a 2 day.2015 I want to at least do 2 small ones.. I am also looking for 2015 for this: 1. Duration. Around 3-5 days. 2.
