3- Unicycles don't help, I can wheelie for quite a while but I can only get 10m on a uni, they are very different, but will probably help if you can do it. Best way to improve a wheelie and manual is practice, practice, practice and more practice.

You need to get a feeling for the balance point on your back wheel.

Watching youtube videos is a good way to learn.

I'd agree. The balance on a Uni is quite different to that on a bike because of the fixed nature of the uni. I wouldn't be able to wheelie my bike more than 5m right now, but I can ride many km's on my uni. If I had a fixie bike on the other hand it may be a different story.

The only thing that works, unless you have freakish genes, is the 3 P's:

Practice

Practice

Practice

The more the better ... even if you still suck at doing something, at least with all the practice you can suck in style

You can learn balance, I know I didnt have it years ago but now its pretty good.

I find that having good balance makes it easier to pick up other sports.

Surfing, cycling, wakeboarding etc were all pretty easy for me to get right because of all the skating I did.

I can vouch for Peach as probably the most skilled all round rider on The Hub. The guy can tear up a cyclocross course, a Downhill track, an XCO course and finish off with a bit of trials riding but more than that he's a really good observer and teacher. I'm amazed at the improvements I've experienced in just a single session with him. Well worth it.

Wheelie

I had a Carlton Chicane Road bike as a kid with the handlebars turned up, I could wheelie that thing up and down small hills around corners etc.

People were surprised when the saw me riding it on two wheels.

Do you think I can wheelie my Mtbike ...Nada not a chance.

It has a lot to do with the bike as well as balance

Very interested... But so far it doesn't look as if I'd be in Gauteng this weekend.
