"So it looks like he did the final climb in 42 mins, which at 70kgs puts him

about 430 Watts for that that effort and 6.10 Watts/ Kilo"

just thinking about who could play the role of Froome in the movie-documentary in around 10 years time......

Dobby from harry potter or ET[emoji12]

It can be titled, Marginal Gains.

Wont be close to that, he spend half the climb drafting 3 or 4 bikes back so he would have used maybe 10% less for that part. Then you have to factor in wind also. Thats the problem with stat..

Would be better to look at last 20min when he was alone but then the gradient was low and speeds very high so frontal drag comes in to play..

LoL so much for Froome riding defensively, he could easy have pulled a Contador (last years Vuelta and Criterium du Dauphine where he wheelsucked Froome) move and then then attacked,

Perhaps his biggest motivation was fear of being called a boring rider cheat.

Fixed.

You call Froome a cheat, which hasn't been proven, yet you openly support a cheat who has been caught?

Jy lees soos jou hol!

As for Contador, yes I still support him.

Thomas climbing with best climbers in the world??? Porte now finding his legs after struggling all season??? Call me a twat, but seems too much like the US postal era again

Thomas is a multiple olympic gold medal winner, multiple world champion in track pursuit (his first when he was just 21). Huge talent, incredible engine. Gave up track 3 years ago to focus on road and since then we've watched a progressive, predictable improvement in his performance to where we saw him emerge as one of the best classics riders in the world now. Incredibly tough. Rode the whole of the 2013 TDF with a fractured pelvis. Has dropped over 5 kg and at 29 just emerging into the prime of his road career.Richie Porte has struggled all season? He's won every single stage race he's entered this year (Paris–Nice, Volta a Catalunya, Giro del Trentino), bar 2. And that was the Tour Down Under where he came second, and the Giro where he had to pull out due to injury. Today's performance is entirely in line with his performances this year. Also in the peak of his powers at 30, he's riding exactly as he should be.

Is the 430 the power reading or calculated based on speed, weight and gradient?

Calculated power stats are normally waaayyy off because they don't take things like drafting, road surface, wind conditions and rider profile into consideration.

Ooh hell everything will be questioned now.. not just the data that was hacked/leaked but those missed doping controls as well.. I have plenty popcorn. ..

During the Giro we were all questioning Landa and Aru and the whole damn Astana. Seems same doesn't aplly to a Brit.. if that was a Italian/Spanish/Colombian rider what would everyone be saying.

In the Dauphine Froome couldn't hold an attack for that long, he battled to shake TJ...

Last time I believed someone was that good. . Turned out he wasn't.

Ek sê maar net.

I was agreeing, its like taking my strava estimated watts up Chappies this morning, said I did 530w for 12 minutes. :o With those figures I could replace Nibali! :P

The fact that I sat on someones wheel, had a  tail wind has nothing to do with it.

If you are comparing Landa and Aru to the likes of Porte and Thomas you are pretty far  off. Landa's best finish ever in a tour was 90 odd, then next tour, boom top 3, Porte has been at the top of the GC before and Thomas as said above had an incredible classics season. If Roche or Poels started beating little colombians and old spaniards then there would be questions.

I have to agree with you.
