'Dale Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Think I saw he will be doing another criterium tonight. It's more like festival racingThey earn humongous cheques for just appearing. Who wants to really race a crit after 3 weeks in the saddle...

I'm still claiming it as a win nice though that they are willing to go to these.. festivals and participate even after 3 weeks of racing.. yes it's a show for all and a nice pay day.
Tumbleweed Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Has anyone posted about MTN pulling their sponsorship?
Gen Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Has anyone posted about MTN pulling their sponsorship?Still nothing confirmed, but it seems Dimension Data will be taking over as title sponsors. Well that's the rumour. But I think that's all depending if they can get World Tour status or something like that.

Gen Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Swagan does, thats who! quite a few rocked up including Froome and Pauwels, Froome tried to attack and ja that didn't work, Sagan strolled past him lol
Nibali Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Something on Velonews regarding the post-Tour criteriums. Cool read.In the week after the Tour, riders hit the criterium circuit for a few days of fast laps under the lights, entertaining raucous crowds. The series of post-Tour criteriums have dropped in prestige over the years, but still have remained rather popular amongst the public, with crowds upwards of ten thousand for some of the races.Read more at http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/07/news/post-tour-criteriums-keep-the-spectacle-alive-a-little-while-longer_379802#SLTH4lampIcKPd1Z.99

I enjoyed the bit about the lantern rouge, some of the old stories make a bit more sense now, all the "fighting" for coming last, it never made sense to me.
Gen Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If anyone wants to watch... here is the link to tonight's racing https://t.co/MotIM7ogD2
Gen Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 If anyone wants to watch... here is the link to tonight's racing https://t.co/MotIM7ogD2 i don't think I have ever been as confused as what I was last night watching that.. it was a free for all, every now and then some riders pulled off and stood under a gazebo and then rejoined again.. Danny T finished 4th but he must have sat out 4 laps all in all , it would've made more sense to me if every time they went and stood under the gazebo they had to down a beer. I at least eventually got how the sprints and points and cash prizes for sprints during it all worked. But it was really entertaining And sagan "won" 2 mtn guys participated, Danny T and Jacques JVR, they are really popular in Holland. Tonight I'll hopefully get to watch the one in Belgium
Shebeen Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 have been listening to the SBS cycling podcast(it's australian). They've been doing a fun skit called Froomey and Roomey, which ended with the last one. pretty classic with Porte on his way out the team, it ended in tears.
