I know this is a race, but maybe Tekl-polka-dot should ease up the pace and save the legs for tomorrows KOM stage point, which is 99.5km into the stage... (Just a thought)

Best variant so far

Seems Nibali was very cross and actually threw his bidon and Froome...  hmmm

As he says though, “Did we clear it all up? Yeah! We are not footballers, we are cyclists!”  haha - too true.

I watched Tony Martins fall a number of times and cannot figure out why he fell, seemed to be all of his own doing...but the overhead film footage does not get close enough to see what happened. Looks like to me he tried to lean right maybe to avoid something on his left as he was near the railing maybe a spectators camera or phone on a selfie stick?

He said he touched europecar rider's wheel. And I think he lost balance and tried to compensate for bike and body going in opposite directions and then down he went.

And sagan wins the sprint. . Out of the rest.. breakaway collected most of the points.

Correction apparently Degenkolb was in front of sagan..

The commentators also mentioned a wheel touch with Coquard but I could not see anything. Also looked to me like he suddenly veered/leaned right.

Out of interest, does anyone know if the TdF race rules are available on the interweb? And are the daily fines published eg long bottles, irregular feeding, peeing in 'public'? The google machine is letting me down.....
