I have a set on my SS - not the lightest, but so far bulletproof (ok they were built by a big lad for himself.... with spokes that resemble steel girders...) still run true after about 8 - 10 000 km.

8 - 10000km on a SS, hardcore!!

I have ordered two WTB KOM i23 rims for my trail bike.  Just need to order hubs, and the parts will go straight to a trusted wheelbuilder in town.

Hi Brian, where did you order the rims from?  I have been trashing the American Classic and ZTR Crest rim's on my Scott Genius, so I am looking for something stronger.

Any LBS will be able to get you KOM rims.  International Trade is the importers and distributers.  Same guys that import Hope products in SA.

Running ARCH EX with Hope's at the moment.  I'm seriously looking at the KOM's when my Arches fail.

My Fuji came with mid range WTB LaserDisk, only issue I've experienced was bent spoke when some wire got caught in them, found them a breeze to fit tubeless on, no levers necessary.

Have you had any problems with the Arch/Hope combo? I'm looking to get a set so interested on your thoughts on them?

Hi jasssper,  No...bulletproof combination.  My wheelset was build by Spokeworks, running for over a year now. Not a single issue!

Glad to hear I'm on the right track then! Thanks Morwa

You can get them from most LBS's. Great price compared to the ZTR equivalent.

Hi guys: Can you give some input on the ideal tyre model combination for front/back in WTB for cross country /marathon type usage (29")?  thanks

What I can say is I19's on 2.1 front and back are not ideal. I think 2.25 or 2.3 front, with 2.1 back will will work better

Weirwolf front

Nineline rear

The Nineline not great in muddy conditions though. Would then put a Wolverine on.

OK. Would you use 2.25/2.3 - 2.1 combination?
