There are two ways of doing the 94.7:

You drive the 36 km to the start and as you have an 06hsomething start you can get there, do a gentle 3h15 ride on your road bike sitting in a bunch, drive home for a late breakfast.

OR

You do it on your MTB;

With Nobbly Nics on;

built as a SS;

With a silly ratio so you have to work to get on top of the gear up every hill;

Ride the 36km to the start;

Hang around until 10h00 so you can ride in the heat of the day;

Realize you only have 1 bottle;

Stop and have a Tequila. Have one more. And another one;

Politely ask the tannie I am passing up the last hill to hold her line;

Get told to **** off;

Finish the race;

Grab a cold coke;

Cycle the 36km home;

Arrive home at 16h00;

Have a shower, beer and take my dog for a walk.

Followed by a GINORMOUS steak and chips

Fixed it for you.... :)

Yo, that steak certainly hit the spot square on. Bullseye!

And I took some expert medical advice and left the chips and had a second beer instead.......

Lekker spending a small amount of time with you guys on the road!

What was the Rouxster doing to his bike? It was upside down... Surely he wasn't fixing it - I mean fixing a SSer means lubing the chain :devil:

Meneer as much as I love my bike, it was a dogshow yesterday. Long story short, I butchered a chainring from a 3x9 set with ramps, and then grinded and filed some bolts down to make it work on the saturday, lets just say it sounded like riding with a symphony.

Good seeing you on route

Ladies and gentelman - buy this man a bells.

This is how SSers made - with old spoons, bodging, filing and boer maak n plan gees.

It's kinda like owning an Alfa!

The difference between an Alfa and a SS is that you can ride the SS every day.[/size]

And the similarity is that eventually you end up pushing both.......

Sorry guys i never made it to the second lap.

I had a fall in ghandi square that was caused by a local crossing the road. I managed to miss him but then couldnt keep the bike up right.

That was it i went down and hard.

My handlebar snapped in half and i am bruised all over.

I finished the ride with my half a bar and only front brakes and shifters as i wasnt gonna sit around town and wait for the sweepers.

Next time guys i will be in the booze cruize

Respect! I think you can now upgrade to a slightly tougher looking avatar  ;)
