just received my race number via courier but no "goodie bag"

is this normally the case when opting for courier service?

was also hoping for an A batch entry after the past few race results :(

What are the number of entries like this year?

We received 600 late entries last year, so it we get the same this year - then we'll be very close (read: still less) to matching last year's numbers.

The online entry system still seems open - am I missing something?

I'm considering coming back early from my Sabie Hell ride and doing the 125km...

I responded to a query from the race office - and this was the "out-of-office" reply.

Online entries have closed, but you can still enter on Thursday - Saturday (late entry).

Good day Thank-you for your email. Please note that online entries for the 2015 Carnival City Macsteel National Classic are now closed. If you have not entered, and would still like to, then late entries can be done at registration venues as follows : 1) Thursday 19th February 2015 – Cycle Lab Centurion – 09:00 to 17:00 2) Friday 20th February 2015 – Cycle Lab – Fourways – 09:00 to 17:00 3) Saturday 21st February 2015 – Tour de Frans – Boksburg – 08:30 to 14:00 If your email would be answered by the above info, then please do not expect a direct response. Goody bag? that would sound right, as the goody bags are packed in the back of a panel van that goes to number collection. If you really want one - I'm sure there will be available on race day.

Send me a PM with your name & surname, and I'll tell you where you ranked from 1-4000. Excluding the licensed riders, tandems and 65Km entries, you'd then be ranked again from 1-XXX where XXX = number of open seeded participants. There may have been more than 180 cyclists that also had better (recent) race results.

Where are the seedings available?

They're not available yet - but I have the full list.

The company doing the timing are busy processing everything - priority was to get the "courier" entries completed by today.

I will contact Peak Timing (ChampionChip) as they should have sent the frame number.

I'll have to find out why/how this happened.

BTW - no soap and sun block in the goody bag - Ice Tea and some Pronutro product, and if you're lucky a FiT gel (there weren't enough so some bags might not have).

edit: gel (not energy bar)
