Paul Ruinaard Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 HI, i know there is a 24 hour at Thaba Trails but i was also told that there will be one at Modderfontien but for the love of me i cant find any details of where to enter etc. Also wrt Thaba - I believe the camp site is lets say not the best ? What has happened to VG and why has it moved? We all treat it as the MTB boys year end party and we are quite peed off that this is all very unclear.

I liked this event because it was far from the city (70km) and the camping place was cool, not very keen for the Thaba 24h. Seems to me NO 24h event this desember.

MTBc Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 It's definitely not happening at VG, spoke to Erik about it a few weeks ago. There's a Strada24 happening on 6th of December, at Modder. You can find Strada24 on FB, here's their post from October 21: Not sure if this is being organized by Dimitri, who organized the Omni-motion at VG last year and the year before... We are excited and pleased to announce the venue for this years 24HR MTB. After 3 years of contemplating and paying attention to developments the time has finally come and everything has fallen into place.The venue is Central Park Trails Modderfontein.Entries will open next week.Full details soon

Despite our best efforts, logistical problems have led to this year’s cancellation.We will be back in 2015 with many exciting changes, improvements and new partners with fresh energy.We want to thank Central Park Trails who showed so much interest in hosting the event but sadly are not able to. If there is a race at Modderfontein on the 6th I honestly can't see a lot of people pitching because it is as if they want nobody to know about it - and a lot of guys are doing the Thaba one already. Edit: Only saw the cancellation post now. Sad to hear... I really enjoyed the event in the past 2 years, but not supporting that specific one any more. Pity that the Thaba 1 overlaps with Rockman tri.... somewhat undecided about which 1 I'd rather do.
