Had a similar issue car vs car when I tried laying a charge, I was told there is no case, wtf!! Unlicensed 18year old driving her moms car, jumps red light, T-Bones me & my car is a write off!! & up to today nothing has been done, not sure if insurers Persued them or not. Karma is a bitch.

If nothing comes from the cops, take it to the press. Specifically Keeno Kammies on Cape Talk. He prides himself on being mates with the police commissioner, Arno Lemoer.

Pepper him with these stories. He gets all indignant and promises action.

It's dereliction of duty for a cop to refuse to open a case in this situation. Clear hit 'n run.

Possibly the cops you are dealing with are not career cops, but just job seekers that had to choose between SAPS and being a shelf packer at Checkers. Picking up boxes seemed like too much work, compared to picking your nose at the charge office.

Have a look if there's a security camera at the intersection, it can help as evidence.

There are 2 cameras: contact WCSS security they have one opposite the bakery. They keep the footage for 3 days. Mountain men security has one at the bakery, i think.

I know the onus is on the driver to check their blind spots ....but obviously they don't ...so what can we do .,,I'll definitely fit a a "hooter" of some sorts .... I heard this "siren" that went off when the display cabinet was opened at CNA...powered by a battery of some sorts ....I'd prefer that police sirens tho..a whoop whoop would do the trick....????

How can the cops refuse to lay charges? Isn't it up to a court to decide this?

The two charges that was made were Negligent & Dangerous driving as well as Leaving the scene of an accident.

This (previously disadvantaged) detective constable had two witness statements, pictures, quotes, sketches of the accident, the culprits and even a piece that broke off the scooter.

But, they pulled a Zuma on me and I was informed that there was not enough evidence to prosecute.

I suppose the girls dad bought the docket.

Lucky the guy is still in one piece, hopefully the culprit gets nabbed, sorry state when the cops are to lazy or busy to investigate car accidents, vehicles are lethal weapons.

I was almost taken out by a delivery truck this morning (8:30) at the entrance to the Tokai PnP / Toys R Us on Main Rd. The genius accelerated to get past me, and then had to brake hard to make it into the driveway.  :cursing:

Luckily my ninja skills and reactions kept me safe

I struggle to understand the logic or thought process that goes into a manoeuvre like that. Or maybe there is none, and that freaks me out even more.

Same road, same stunt happened to me outside the Woollies entrance.

Mad tart in a VW hammers past and turns sharp left directly in front of me without a care in the world.

Then going the opposite direction a guy pulls the same stunt and after I have managed to dive up on to the pavement to avoid the idiot and then signal my discontent with his driving he stops, reverses and threatens to beat me up.

Only to drive away rapidly when I indicated him getting out the car and starting a fight was my preferred course of action.

There is something about that road and I have stopped riding it, besides the above there have been too many close calls with people driving past with inches to spare.
