Would changing my Disc rotors from a 180/160 to a 203/180  ( front / rear shimano m series ) will make much difference,

or would it be better to wait till i can afford a complete better system

any reason why you not ok with simply upgrading the rear rotor size only to reflect a 180/180 configuration?

i figured 180 and 203 rotor about same price and i will have to buy an adaptor to mount either way so why not go with the bigger one

Its the best and cheapest upgrade you can make to your brakes. Increases power and modulation.

If you don't already have the rotors and can spare a bit then try for Shimano Ice Tech as they have some great cooling features.

Yes, but they bend if you look at them funny. Stainless for the win.

Hmm - i have them on three bikes and haven't had any issues. Cant say the same about other rotors though. they seemed to bend in the cupboard.

Rotor Fairies were at them with hammers.

I cant't say i use the Ice Tech features extensively for massive heat dissipation which is what they are designed for but they definitely make a difference when you are going to do some impromptu down hilling in a ride as they fade less.

However i do have them paired with Shimano finned pads and the combo makes it seem like less fade from heat build up.

I am a big bigger than your average MTB'er so stopping on steep downhills is a bit of a bigger issue than for race snakes...

I weigh about 90kg in riding kit with camelbak. Upgraded to 203/180 with the 2014 XT brakes on my new 29er and very happy. I ride mostly trails with moderate agression and love a good technical descent. I get savage power with single finger braking. To be honest the recent XT levers/calipers are so good that 180/160 would likely have been OK as well.
