Brand confidence is gone and it is a death sentence for the other branches. But as said, it could be a strategic move to get out of a lease for instance. Most if these shopping centres have up to twenty year leases!

Financed a revox 2013 ltd edition through them and part of the deal is that they pay the shop R2000 in bike service fees for me to have my bike serviced during the period at no cost! Now that is all gone??? Have you contacted VeloLife regarding this?

This will however not have any affect with regards to Velo Life Somerset West, Velo Life Rosebank, Velo Life Rustenburg or Velo Life Pretoria as all of these shops are owned by separate legal entities. We thought we would just like to share this info with all of our clients to avoid the spreading of incorrect rumors (as is often the case in the cycling industry). For these shops it will be business as usual with the focus on servicing the cycling community with a smile. BMC international will be taking over the distribution of BMC bicycles in South Africa from Velo Life Cc and we look forward to a mutual beneficial relationship going forward. Bergamont also indicated that they will remain a major role player in the SA market going into 2015. We would like to apologize to all clients should there be a delay in service delivery with regards to these two brands until the take-over process has been completed.This is really sad. The Velo Life guys were a great bunch and I received some wonderful service and assistance from them at The Panorama over the years.

When I spoke to bikelife, they confirmed it as being true - they have closed and said the monies for servicing the bike was paid over to them. Haven't even had a chance to service the bike!!!

I read that as poor on BikeLifes part. If they're offering the service to you they must sort it out - get the money from VeloLife and offer an alternative option regarding your services. I'd take it up with them (BikeLife). Find it strange you haven't been able to get hold of anyone at VeloLife. I know people have been communicating with them over the last few days. Pretty sure it isn't their intention to not honour any service agreement as you mentioned.

Yes an attempted bike jacking about 3km from our house.. a group of bastards.. as hubby rode past them the last one grabbed his handlebar and hubby fell, landed on the back of his head, as he was getting up the one come towards him and said do you want to fight, hubby reckons he didn't even think he just gave the guy an upper cut and the guy went and sat on his ass. There was a stationary taxi about 50m up ahead and the driver noticed and started shouting at them and they picked up there buddy and ran. It was a Catlike Vacuum, red lize Large if i recall or XL,hubby loved that helmet. So if any one still has old stock lying around pls pls let me know as they don't make them anymore.
