I don't know neither of John Ntuli nor Chris Van Zyl - do they have a track record in these type of events?

Entrants can be a bit of an unknown in new events like these :)

John is one of Martin Dreyers Change a Life riders - I would expect he has been well prepped for this. Chris I think is a 24hour racer, but I'm not sure.

Being on the front now though is not necessarily a good thing...

what is interesting looking at the start pics, is just how little they are actually carrying.

DO they plan on wearing the same kit for 2 or 3 days ? or is there a bag drop half way ?

Chris has done the Paris-Brest-Paris before (more than once if i'm not mistaken). Admittedly it's on the road but he does have good experience in these type of ultra-endurance events.

Some serious pace there with 900km odd to go

There are no bags :) what you carry is what you have, which makes this so much cooler. No outside assistance at all.

Chris is also a regular 24hr racer - tough as nails, with a head that can deal with the demons!

Does have a bit of a habit of going out too hard

Kobus Barnard is the dentist from Outshoorn?

...I would be careful the next time I sit in his chair for repairs - he seems to be willing to keep going for a long time :whistling:
