All downhill to box time....

it must be a feeling of relief for riders when they get to those last 20 km's..assuming the profile view is not lying

Well done Amy. Not only 1st of the ladies, but 8th overall. Now she is a mean machine. A nice feminized one of course.

So the posse of back markers made to RV 4 at 1:30am about 1,5 hrs behind my little schedule . They need to get going now if they're going to have any chance of making it. I'm afraid it's a case of sleep less and ride more boys, WAKE UP!

(Wo)Man of the match for me, what with the extra 150km detour and still finishing in 11th and the 2nd woman home... Hats off.

Respect, Hanele Steyn...

Just been reading what the race entry of R15 000 includes:

Food and accommodation for all 5 days - I think the group of back markers are eating all the winners food and sleeping all their sleep

Getting their full money's worth!!!!

Have to agree with you there, those are serious setbacks in a race this big. She just got back on track and carried on with it. Looked touch and go with 2nd for a while but she pushed through.

I see my posse of 7 (JM seems to have joined them) hasn't moved, WAKE UP boys, WAKE UP!

So these guys have another 290km to go, question is how they are planning to finish before tomorrow at 12 (27 hours left). I thought they would have started early to try and get to the Tankwa stop before midday and wait for the worst of the heat to pass before heading to race village 5.

Looks like they finally decided to roll out, heat must be picking up quickly.

I think they've decided to do an all-nighter which is a brave decision. WVD hasn't gone with them unless his tracker update is delayed.
