2nd last group on the move from Tankwa after a 1,5hr R&R target must be to get to RV5 before 2am so that they can squeeze in a 3 hr kip.

What's happening to PS and JT?

They are about 4km and closer to the finish but they haven't moved in ages??? So strange!?!?

They have been recorded as finishers so that's just a quirk in the system.

SVH, CH & PVDL also on the move they should be done just after midnight, a really great strategy from them, sleep during the heat and ride at night.

This is one of the most interesting mtb events EVER! I know a lot of us would like more coverage and more information along the way. But I feel it would take away some of the toughness - it would be like those guys trying to survive in the jungle, but there are a camera man filming it. Part of the toughness for the guys in front are you are alone no one around - you yourself and your mind playing games. Not only physical strength but mental to.

I think more than half of the appeal of this event is the fact that we have not been "too close" to the athletes. Our theories based on the live tracker have kept us fixated!

 

I might get some work done tomorrow when the back markers roll in!!

GC is really confused he seems to be going back towards the farmhouse that he stopped at earlier, I think he's looking for RV5 which is just 11kms down the road.

I think GU might have taken it up with unfinished business and all. He doesnt qualify though but Im sure he will be back next year.

JN is apparently above the age limit as a development rider.

I'm off to bed so here are my hopes for the evening - barring any misadventure SVH, CH & PVDL will make it before the morning, GC finds RV5 and joins up with CA and GR. As for the back markers the first group are on the money just as for the last group, the 3Ws, they are up against it but I believe that the human spirit will find a way to prevail. I really hope that I wake up tomorrow and the 3Ws have passed RV5, go boys!
