milky4130 Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 So not knowing the area & I couldn't find any other mtb'ers although there were plenty staying in the area after Attakwas I ventured on my own just exploring mossel bay. Found this cool walkers/hikers trail but first had to navigate 15% steep gradients to get to the top. I unfortunately ran out of time & I went through this one gate with a notice saying it will be closed at 6pm. Also saw a few signs which said "no tresspassers" which all made me unsure at the time, but only realized afterwards after seeing others paths leading to private property. Nonetheless I had a ball of a time & was tempted to return the next with my Go Pro but decided against it as it was meant to be a holiday. I was soClose to the edge that if I had fallen nobody would ever have found me.

I'm definitely going to check out this St Blaze trail at first oppurtunity.I Entered the Hartenbos 70 km race as a dirt roadie ,thinking that I have done some really hard hills on the district roads ,so how tough could it be? Surprise . Plenty singletrack, hard climbs, narrow descents , dongas , drop offs ,narrow bridges. For me this was a hard ,hard race . I almost came last,and got a MTB lesson in the process. Picture taken on the Brandwag ,Hagelkraal ,Ruiterbos loop (Barhugger's earlier map). Some very hard climbs on that stretch.

I did not do the entire trail but there were sections I had to dismount some were involuntary [emoji23] but more riding than walking. I suggest chatting to some locals, I just happen to find this gem by chance.

I took the picture because it is an unusual sight.I'm not 100% sure but when the guys lost their fishing licenses a few years back many boats got taken out of the water because they could not get their prices when they wanted to sell them so they took the motors of and just dumped them.
