Looking to build a set of 27,5" wheels, I already have superstar hubs so I just need rims to lace them into.

They must be able to take a beating, have an inner width of 25mm or more and not weigh a ton. obviously weight isn't a major priority but it is a factor.

What rims would you buy?

I'm in exactly the same position. except I need hubs too.. pretty much decided on Flow ex's on Hope hubs. but was a toss up between them and a set of American classic Wide Lightning's

They only bring in the i23's

Then CRC.

I just got a couple i25 Frequency (26') rims at pretty decent prices.

Used 'regular' free mail and they were delivered in 3 weeks.

Get the spokes locally and build them yourself.

What about the mavic crossmax XL WTS? (wheel tyre system). It's available locally, but unfortunately it includes the tyres. The new hubs sound and look amazeballs.
