Is John O' Connor Cycles in Seapoint/CT a decent lbs, mainly is the workshop good?

How are their prices?

I want to refer someone to them, a bike noob and I'd like him to have a good start in the bike game, get good advice, bike fixed correctly and not get taken to the cleaners, he also lives nearby so it would be the perfect Lbs from that viewpoint. If not John O' Connor Cycles then where else close by, there are a few LBS in the Seapoint area.

Well it's on the Atlantic Seaboard...rental there as an overhead has to be factored some how...what about the Chris Willemse in Green Point....and if they give a sh*tty service we can slate them here on the hub....????????????????

I am not a frequent customer, but I bought my bike from them. That was a very good experience with a perfect bike fit by the staff. The price was also in line with the rest of the industry at that stage. (I cannot comment on their general prices.)

As for the people - they are sound. I dealt a lot with some of them while they were still with Willie Engelbreght. They have been around and know bicycles.

YES!

Prices are not bad at all, for the high quality of their services. My bikes always rolls out of J.O.C quite as a ninja  and shifting accurately.

Do you want a LBS that has cheap mediocre if not crap services or do you want your bike to last and ride like a dream?

Staff are also very friendly and down to the point.  No pun intended :P

JOC is not your average bike shop, it is for clients who know what they want, and can reach the items packed on the top shelves. There you get expert advice from John and Willie and awesome service in the workshop by Jacques and JP!

Thanks chaps, expected the prices to perhaps be a bit above the normal, to be honest with you when I browsed around the shop a while back was a little bit surprised to see more than a few of the prices weren't to bad at all and if the expertise of the staff and workshop is top notch it's good to go.
