Let's agree to disagree on this one, maybe my pockets are transparent....

No. I will not agree to disagree. You're in the wrong. Plain and simple. Your type of mentality is part of the reason that many trail builders and maintenance crews have to battle so hard to carry on gaining landowner permissions for mtb trails.

Sort yourself out.

aaah you must be the same guy who thinks he is above the law, fall in the same Catergory as skips red traffic lights, don't stop at the stop sign, don't pay tv license, change lanes without indicating, drive while under the influence, lie on your tax return, don't display member board on bars although you agreed that you would, willing to let 3000 fellow

Members lose a trail because your opinion makes more sense, choose any one of the above that applies to You. TMTBC Marshals will stop you & they will make an issue of your board not being where it's suppose to be, you will be reprimanded, etc.

Why go through that if you know it's going to happen, just being stopped & being questioned alone is enough to spoil my ride.

Btw no need to stalk my profile pm me if you want to know exactly who I am & we can maybe hook up for a beer or coffee or a trail ride.

yoh how do you know he is stalking your profile?

I have never had any issues with landowners if you are accommodating and civil so to me it always comes down to attitude. Trust me, I will not be one of these that cause you or your club any issues. PS I have not ridden any of the Hillcrest etc., etc, trails in the last year.

I am having more than enough fun on Bot Hills and surrounding private farms, where I have permission to ride from the land owners without needing to display any boards.

I was just commenting on the fact that if I have 4 boards all on top of each other and I am on a trail for which the board is not on the top, it may as well be in my pocket for the value it has.

Please don't take it the wrong way, but it would probably be in everyone's interest that you do not join TBMTBC if you are intent on compromising the investment made in the trails. I also don't agree with some of the rules of the club (the limited access to day visitors for instance makes it hard to invite out-of-towners who come to visit occasionally for a proper ride), but if I join in 2015 I would not even consider breaking the club's rules. If I was on the club committee, I'd rather have 2000 law-abiding members than 4000 members with half thinking they are entitled to do as they please. Land access is negotiated on a year to year basis making compliance to the rules a bigger priority than say Botlary Hills who's land availability is more or less guaranteed. Trail building is like fruit farming, not planting cash crops. The investment should be seen as long term to justify the cost of the infrastructure on the trails.

Damn, we could even be riding the TB together. Lots of time to talk about these things.

as you can tell I'm passionate about combating rogue riding & maintaining a good law abiding relationship with our land owners, if we cant share the same view & opinion I'm afraid that's going to be a bit of long & awkward 10 hours, lol! Well I did volunteer to be a work horse so I might just sit infront all day & not say a word. Haha!!

They were riding up the concrete road which has clearly been sign posted from the bottom entrance as prohibited. No cycling allowed - not even road bikes. With all the blind corners it becomes very dangerous for cars coming up or down let alone adding bikes to the equation. We've been warned numerous times about now riding on this road. They were trespassing and knowingly as well thus their pics should be posted on a cycling forum..

that sign has been up their for years ie before TMBC existed , the main reason is that motorists have to leave the road to pass a cyclist. during the wet winters the soil erosion is bad and with cars leaving the concrete path it would just make it worse - this was the reason given when we tried to organise a hill climb event up the road in the 90's.

It only takes one Dick, and not every Tom and Harry, to ruin it for everybody. Land access is a privilege and not a right. Either display your board or don't bother riding the trails.

Have these particular riders been identified and contacted yet?

Just renewed my annual membership for 2015 - c'mmon its not that difficult to part with R600pa. You do it for dstv per month, for dinner per night....and heavens knows how much you spend on your steeds.

Tygerberg MTB club does fantastic work and really deserve support.

I'm sorry I just can't help myself...

Roque - American variant of croquet played on a hard smooth surface

Rogue - An unhelpful, deceitful or dishonest person

Hell, you are pedantic. :whistling:

Ok, Ok. It was a finger error.  Now where's the tippex?

There you go. Unless you have a handlebar in your pocket its not going to help to have transparent pockets.
