I uploaded my Garmin yesterday... I lost 12mins to the leaders in 20km...all because of you! (haha, not due to lack of anything on my part, clearly)

LOL

i actually started this race with a friend of mine, having not done any road races in ages, i thought why not, Saturdays suit me. Again i never ever did like the 99er. Anyway even after i turned around to fetch my garmin, i sat up waiting for C bunch, who as you can imagine were a while back after the efforts B had put in. i caught this friend on Vissershok, needless to say he cursed me to smithereens and is still cursing me today...

Doubt anything beats the bottle opener at the Durbie Dash....If your wife saw that she would have sold your bike(s)

I missed the Durbie Dash because I thought it was on Sunday.  We went on Saturday to pick our numbers up but they were packing up already...  hehe.

Probably good thing I missed it then.

Being so old and wise, I shall bear no grudges. Mostly cos carrying more is not going to help me at all!

I dont get it, I was in the A bunch and there were no B riders even close to us and the results also reflects that. B cought the guys that were dropped from the A bunch.

Results show,

Fastest B rider 2:55:00

Fastest A rider 2:56:11

What was the time gaps 3mins? So what might of happened B caught A, but because of the efforts put in B couldn't climb as fast and the A made little bit of time back there... Just a speculation!

Who knows... I was off by the climb [emoji26]

eina! I purposely redesigned my cassette. I lost the 13, moved everything down and added a 28. Saved my neck for sure!

By the way, on a more vane note. My wife laughed at the medal. Hardest race for me thus far ( compared to other 100km races), but crappiest medal!

Hehe. yeah that medal totally undersells the achievement of finishing the 99er :P. Even my Girlfriend noticed that it was only printed on one side, lol.

Just so BTW,

How does 99er times compare to Argus times, yes I know there are a million variable's.

But just an average comparison, nothing concrete.

Add 15- 20 mins to your finishing time

Very roughly

F**k, I found that tough!  :cursing:  The heat was rough and the pace was relentless.

Those extra 8 (or so) kilometers compared to last year felt like another 20.

Sjoe! And there was some seriously crazy traffic and motorists on the route.

Yeah the traffic was insane. So many close calls. There was this guy that tried to over take our massive Group, then when he realised that he was not going to make it tried to cut in  . Thankfully there was a traffic official with us that pulled him over.
