What a weekend!

Ran 28k on Friday in midday heat, then swam 3k at Fish Hoek on Saturday without a suit, followed by 180k bike yesterday. Quite ridiculous for me.

Only, after that bike I didn't really feel like running anywhere... In fact, I would not even have run into the arms of Robin Wright if she stood naked at my front door. That, I fear, is a problem.

I was having the same issue, but I was recommended an immune booster. I use immunova from biobalance, and has so far worked brilliantly. No only do I avoid sickness from training, but my normal winter cold/flu is gone too.

Started using this after DragoRosso's advice, and it seems to work really well. I only use 1/3 of the recommended dose, and so far no recurring airway infections or any other illness. After a long swim on Saturday my throat was very raw and I actually felt a little sick through the entire Sunday bike, but up to now no inflammation which certainly would have been the case 8 weeks ago.

Hehe, well done. I swam 3.5km in a pool on Friday, did a 23km run on Saturday and a 80km mtbike on Sunday. Slightly foooked today. I'm now getting a tad nervous....

Swam 6km over the weekend (3.5km Friday/2.5km Sunday split) half-marathon run on Saturday and 75km cycle on Sunday. Felt quite good this morning, but nerves starting to eat at me as well.7 weeks to go, must train harder!

I used a Great Kindle Download book to Train solo for Both my Ironmen Races I did in 2012/2013

Be Iron Fit, 2nd, Time Efficient Training Secrets for Ultimate Fitness - Don Fink, - think its a few Dollars..

If you not sure what the plan should be maybe download it and follow the last 16 weeks in (whole programme was 30 weeks with the 70.3 distance race on week 22)

It has a Just to Finish , Intermediate and Advanced Programme with all your swimming Sets and Drills for each level.

I followed the Intermediate in 2012 to finish in a 12.50 (very windy year) and then the Advanced in 2013 to finish 10.36.

I thought it was superb and got me 100% ready both times.

I would like to do the IM but my budget is not allowing me to do it this year.    Ran a PB marathon last weekend!  03h36

Just ask FNB: they keep throwing money my way!!!

Oh, wait a minute... don't you them already?

Great marathon

Hi Guys

Just want to find out. I started training about a year ago, not Ironman specific training, but running and biking. I then started training for triathlons in about June last year. I did the 5150 Bela Bela, TriRock Durban and Eleven Global Sun City. I also did the 70.3 in January but didn't finish due to cramping. Apart from not training the last week due to a cold, I have trained consistently 8 - 10 hours per week from the beginning of the year. If I can get an opportunity to participate in the full Ironman event, taking into account that there are only 6 weeks left until the event.

Thanks

Anything is possible, just need to put your mind to it. So I guess the question is, do you really want to do it now, because you can't go into IM (or any ultra event) half assed. You either commit 120% or not at all.
