I love jonkers. Being a Stellenbosch boy all my life its always been an amazing spot to ride. The problem is the management of the place. It could be sooo much better if local municipality would just start creating trail building jobs and using the money that comes from cyclists and pump it back into more development. I'm currently in Australia riding various spots but my favourite is Stromlo in Canberra, which is an amazing example of local gov at work. And back to the point... I must say that i have really started to like tokai.

I recently saw footage of the new stuff at tokai! It's looking really good. I'm also out the country but for work so the closest I'll be getting to any trails is in my dreams. Vasbyt until end of Jan!

Welvenpas is sick!!! Went last week, rode the Red route, think its slightly longer and has a few more technical bits compared to the black? Similar climbing I think.

Came off hard and have the scars to prove it, but definitely going to go back. not for the sissy rider thats for sure, and bring your full suspension as its quite rough in sections.

Amazing ride though!!

Oh and dont forget about the plantation of marijuana some of the farm workers have left behind after their clearing of certain sections. Stuff growing right next to the single track :)

Welvanpas is great! Black and White are the more difficult routes IIRC? (They go in opposite directions, each also has a corresponding easier route e.g. Red)

Watch "Jonkershoek rockride" on YouTube - Jonkershoek rockride:

Nice clip that my buddy made of a recent ride at Jonkers. Super amped to hit the trails as soon as I'm back in SA!

I have ridden schapenberg a few times but not in quite a while. What saw then really can't compare to the quality found at Jonkershoek imo. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong people.

Rode Schapenberg for the first time last year, and was extremely disappointed with the track. Prefer Jonkers over weekend. But do yourself a favour if you in Stellenbosch area, Go ride G-Spot, Blue Gums or Eden. Some awesome riding spots

Jonkers is becoming too easy - too flowy!

If you want to ride smooth there are highways

Still love it though)

(Flame suite on)

Haha. I'm LOOOOOOOOOVING Jonkers. So much so that I want to go live in Stellenbosch.
