The front triangle looks VERY MUCH the same

Yes they do. Pretty much where the similarities end. Many carbon front triangles use this type of design to provide a brace at the top tube/ seat tube junction...

The crux is the suspension design and since this is somewhat of a speciality of Pat's it'll be vastly different to the Jet9's setup (as can be seen in the side by side photos). The Niner is a superb bike and I'm sure the Stage will be too. I'm not taking anything away from either bike. I was pointing out that the alleged "copy" doesn't extend to the suspension (where many of the copywrites/ patents etc for frames exist).

The rear triangle is also simular.... and I must disagree the Niner was the 1st to use that curved front Triangle.

The suspension pivots are different, but that does not mean that it was a copy with some changes

Ja, the Niner suspension design is patented... you cant just go and copy it :-)

Hence I think that they copied the frame design and just changed the Suspension "slightly"

No they didn't.

And, as per SwissVan's comment, this is off topic. I'm out  .

Lets get back to discussing future Morewood designs... and... silence...

Why the flock u guys arguing discussing PYGA and Niners on a Morewood thread?

:offtopic:

Because there's nothing further to discuss regarding Morewood Bikes...  :w00t:

So no one actually knows why exactly Pat left and started Pyga? Seems like there is a bit more to it.

Why would you establish such an iconic brand just to up and leave?

what I know of Pat and his integrity...he  is not just gonna copy someone else's design - his passion is for his brand and if any similarities occur its purely coincidental

People know but it isn't right to broadcast it on a public forum. IMO anyway.

Edit: Snap Stretch.

Yes it is. Morewood fanboys will get upset. PYGA fanboys will get upset. There will be virtual civil war and the TheHub will be left to the Specialised fanboys... no one wants that!
