Many carbon front triangles use this type of design to provide a brace at the top tube/ seat tube junction... The crux is the suspension design and since this is somewhat of a speciality of Pat's it'll be vastly different to the Jet9's setup (as can be seen in the side by side photos). The Niner is a superb bike and I'm sure the Stage will be too. I'm not taking anything away from either bike. I was pointing out that the alleged "copy" doesn't extend to the suspension (where many of the copywrites/ patents etc for frames exist).

The suspension pivots are different, but that does not mean that it was a copy with some changes
