Use 105 11spd chain I'm sure it will work might save slightly on costs too

That's the same price as a brand new reign.

Less than a team entry into the 2015 Absa Cape Epic.

 

I think the groupsets will sell like hotcakes [emoji6]

The mechanical set is 17k I think. what swayed my choice from xx1 etc. Is replacement costs. Derailer, casette etc. Xx1 casette is R4800 XTR 9000 is R2900. Rear der. 5000 vs 2800. And as we know a rear derailer is quiet exposed. XTR is a touch lighter than xx1 I think.

Just an update, an XX1 Cassette is now R5 850.00 XO1 is now about R4 800.00

 

Will XTR match the 42 tooth cassette of the xx1?

In sort no. They will only be doing 11-40 in XTR. But 11spd XT is nearly out and the XT cassette will be 11-42, whether this will be compatible with the XTR derailleurs we will have to see.

no. 11-40 only 11spd. With a 26/36 crank. U have the lot the new XTR crank can do 1x, 2x or 3× on the same crank arms Of the trail version. Race version 1x and 2x.

i recon is because they had the monopoly on the 11 spd. Not on value. And perhaps why they comin through with a larger range of 1x11spd options.

 

Shimano 11spd casette is made from titanium, ali and Carbon. Xx1 is a single block of ali. Ti is a lot harder than ali.
