Sunglasses for Cycling

I recently misplaced my pair of Oakley Flak's which were handed down to me.

I haven't ridden much without sunglasses before, and after doing a couple of races I have really started missing them. Has anyone got some advice on riding sunglasses that are out there at moment - I don't want to break the bank but am definitely keen to replace them!

Any suggestions/comments?

They're not cheap, but Oakley works - sits comfortably and don't fog up (I've tried Racing Jackets / Jawbones as well as Radarlocks). Get the photochromatic lenses if you can...

Unfortunately to replace oakley's you will break the bank. If you want oakley's similar to what you had id suggest radar's but you looking in the range of 2k. I myself love oakley and the brand and own 2 pairs of jawbones(another colour scheme is coming soon!!), 1 pair of ducati gascan's, 2 pairs of holbrooks, 1 pair of ducati five squared that got stolen and my prescription glasses are also oakley(cant remember the name). Oakley doesn't come cheap but its decent quality.

Tifosi FTW! Super light weight, very affordable and super awesome!

You can get them at the Sweat Shop.

I love my photochromatic ones and they were less than R1k!

Thanks Jimmy, which one's do you have?

There's two that I ride with - Oakley Radarlock Path and Adidas Evil Eye Pro.

Both are extremely comfortable, but for me the fit on the Adidas' are a bit better as you can adjust the tilt of the lens.  Optics are great on both, but the Oakley's are slightly better.

I've gone through a lot of sunglasses. From the uber cheeps that scratch your temple to best of the best.

Adidas evil eye pro is a no no. Great optics and very comfy but one drop and you can kiss that frame good bye. Sun weakens the plastic over time.

Currently using Rudy Project Rydon.

I don't make a habit of dropping my glasses  :whistling:

But seriously, I've dropped them a few times, and even had my little kids "playing" with them and they're all good.  Had them for years without any issues.

I used to use the Rudi's . Wont touch them anymore.

Almost all of my pairs, the lenses went all funny and developed little spots on them. Had like 6 pairs (all ASG auction pairs)

Now i stick with Oakley.

I buy them from eyewearSA, at about half of retail price.

I love my rydons. Though I did read a horror story about half rim googs slicing the flesh of the cheek bone when the rider decided to do some high speed, close up trail inspection

I preferred glasses are D'Arc. Yes they are a bit cheaper, ok a lot cheaper, but I recon that if and when I loose them it will not be such a big loss.

They sit just fine and vent well. My only issue is that they do not have photochrome lenses yet. I bought my current pair 2 years ago. Still going strong.
