It'sMeVee Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Hi AllI'm hoping someone can help me with info please. I came too in the back of ambulance. Have zero recollection of crash. Head injury, Hip and Arm (all on the left). Judging from gear I spent some time off road. Bike is undamaged. I was in AS bunch (turquoise top) and according to ER24 it was about 3km from end. There were many cyclist around me so someone must have seen something? According to ER24 a metro cop / race marshal called it in but no contact details ? and apparently they didn't witness crash. Any info would be helpful. TX

It'sMeVee Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Oh my!! Glad you are able to post! Hope someone can help you out!!thanks yes, more than a week flat on my back, making progress daily. Just frustrating not knowing what happened. Of the 187 timed events I have done, I have had 5 crashes - each of which I recall every last bit of detail. I have also never as much as even fainted before in my entire life. Was found "several metres" away from my undamaged bike and estimated to be unconscious for over an hour. Exceptionally grateful to ER24 personnel and Vereeniging medi clinic doctors - and of course to the still unknown gentleman who called it in.
Captain Fastbastard Mayhem Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Jeepers! Glad you're okay! Well, relatively speaking, of course. I hope you manage to get some recollection of events. Recover strong...
shaper Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Happened to me a Carnival City race last year, crashed, was out cold for 15 mins, still have no recollection of what happened and all ER24 can tell me is that they found me lying there all on my own. Helmet saved my head (helmet was trashed) and ended up with 4 broken ribs. Hope you recover quickly !!
Cheese Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Hi, Glad you OK, Something similar to me happend in race a year or so ago, difference was I remember accident and getting up, However do not remember the last 10 km to the finish. Team mates told me I was talking rubbish when I finished, When I took the helmet off I apparently past out. Woke up in hospital with wife next to bed. Will never really what happened in that period. Downloaded the race and see I did the race as normall from there not slow or anything. Just the memory that is gone.
