One of the casuals looking for work pitched up on it this morning.  He could be legit, but the fact that he told me he was second at the 94.7 last year kind of gets the alarm bells ringing......

Nope.  No shoes, no helmet.  And doesn't have a job either - subsequently found out he is a casual welder looking for work.

I'm not pointing fingers, but to quote a line from a thread I read somewhere, "the economics of the picture don't seem to add up"

if you have a security company, chubb, mamba, call them in explain the economics involved and the pedals and and.  He could have bought it but it doesnt change the fact that it is stolen goods, no one rides to work in normal shoes if you have the correct shoes for the bike,,dont waste your time with the cops, they will just "release" it to him for R500

GET THE SECURITY COMPANY TO HOLD IT FOR A FEW DAYS THEN ALL THE HUBBERS FLOOD THE NET LOOKING FOR THE OWNER

Agreed. When I see someone riding a bike that has clipless pedals and not wearing the shoes, it does ring an alarm bell or two. However the possibility does exist that someone will ride clipless pedals with takkies( A friend did this when he got his first road bike, although he had the rest of the cycling kit).

THESE GUYS NORMALLY FORK OUT BETWEEN R2000-R4000 for these stolen bikes if they did not steal it themselves which makes it *** for them to swallow as they did"pay" for it in their eyes,

Every once in a blue moon I'll ride my road bike in "civvies" - it doesn't mean that I've stolen it...

not saying that it applies here, but just saying.
