Winstonian1984 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Yip, it was a rof day with the weather godsFirst time I've been to a race with it being called off at 10 AM-ish.Got notified the race was stopped at 10:30....got picked up by the sweeper at 12:30.....Had a spartacus moment being 5kgs lighter due to dehydration. Went to the shop in the afternoon and the cashier asked if I was babalas LOL

Don't underestimate this race, thinking it is only Helz to content with. It is the famous rollers all the way, some so slight you do not realise the "Slow Poison" is eating at your legs, until it is too late. They might have cut out the little climb before the Prison, but there is one or two long drags on the section past the Agcicultural School on the way to Windmeul. And I'm sure the fact that this is the first road race I'm doing after the Burger, will not be to my advantage. Hope the Mtb training did not blunt my legs too much.

Cool I will see you in the start line then. I hate climbs so early in the race but I will have to stick with the front guys till over Hellz

Were you one of the unfortunate ones that got cut off last year when they stopped the race due to the heat?I didnt make it over Hellshoogte, thanks to an ITB problem. I tried a new bike setup, but half way up Hells I had to pull the plug. Glad I did. Turned out the bike setup was wrong - seat post was 2cm too high.
