GROUP MEANING 2/3/30 if there were 3 runners( a group) 3 armed thugs against 3 unarmed or even 5 unarmed runners the out come will still have been the same,,,sadly groups wont even stop this,

VERY FRUSTRATING sadly the cape does seems to be getting wilder than gangsters paradise over here

the problem we(people working and paying taxes) dont have the time needed to effectively change the situation, these creatures are just sitting watching and picking what they want ,,when they want, sting operations wont work(cost vs reward) while you still celebrating "removing" a threat from TOKai,,,he has already posted R500 bail and on his way to fetch another IPHONE5 to pay back his brother for bailing him out :cursing:

Agree with you. Safety starts with you. That said one should never ride/jog/walk alone. Still see lots of single cyclists on the Bottelary in the Northern Subs at night. Many being woman. Just a matter of time.

This is such a load of BS. We are being held prisoner!

We cannot enjoy our sport, when and where we want to?

These low lifes essentially dictate to us.

Unacceptable!

Brings me back to the R60 entry fee that people are charged as well?

Seriously makes me sick. We got told we cant ride "cork tree Ally" that trail from top of Southern cross drive bellow Cecelia Forest by some ranger then had to risk our lives riding between rush hour traffic on Rhodes drive. Why???????

When there is actual real crime going on in our hood.

The rangers should be full time looking for the perps or helping fix trails.

the thing is i know many lady cyclist who say "i refuse to be a victim" im not giving up my sport,,,i see these ladies riding up the P91(modderfontein road) and i cant help think ARE U SERIAAS??

yes its wrong that we need to ride"around" hot spots but as i said this is africa you need to be realistic, i even see single riders(ladies) riding at VAN GAALENS ill ride there with a group of mates and i know half the group have guns,,,,REALLY SCREWED up situation we are in, problem is the governmunt couldnt care less, they much bigger criminals than the thugs in the forrests

I'm looking at packing heat again as well. How do you carry your weapon Smurfy, on your person or on the bike? I found that when I carry on my person, the weapon picks up moisture and it starts rusting. However packing on the bike is not ideal because if you get hit with something and seperated from the bike you're stuffed.

Like it was mentioned, if you are a group of ten riders, all it takes is ONE armed criminal and the whole group is powerless. I cycle with my firearm, it is neatly holstered, and nobody knowns that I have it with me. If you do not like it, go somewhere else. I am not carrying a firearm to look cool, its a big inconvenience to me, and I am also no carrying a firearm to protect my bike and cellphone, I carry one as a last resort to protect my life, and I am not counting on the nice criminal not to kill me. Your safety is ultimately your own responsibility, and of you can not comprehend that, good luck, and enjoy your surely soon too end life.

Milnerton should have quite a few people. I ride there often, the open spaces actually makes it safer. Its the roads with bushes, up in mountains etc... thats riskier

so whats the solution for Tokai? 'security' only gets there at 07:30 if you're lucky. most of us have to ride well before that to get in a good ride before work. should a group ride be started where one or maybe two of the riders are armed?

how will that play out if something goes down?
