I went from 540 to eggbeater 1's and I just cant get them to work as reliable so I'm going to change back to the 540's.

For me the CB's sometimes clip out easy and sometimes hard which has made for some close calls. With the 540's I would often clip out over drops and rough rock sections and still be able to pedal, with the CB's my feet have rolled off the pedals a few times when I tried that.

I went from XT's to Eggbeaters 3. What I do like about the Eggbeaters is you have a lot more confidence on the single track as you can clip out easier on technical parts. (I feel you can take a bit more chances..)

I've switched to the Look S Track pedals last Friday. Did 2 rides with them this weekend and they feel great.

I am really happy with the S-Tracks. They just provide me with slightly more locked down feel. I added the cages for more platform so i can ride uncleated. I have still got my set of Shimano's as these are bomb proof and in a pinch i can always swap to these.

I started off with 505's (cr@p) them moved on to 520's. I bought a bike that came with Candy's on so I gave them a bash. Well I ended up back on my trusty 520's within a few rides. Too much float for my liking and didn't feel as clipped in as with the 520's.

Only three things to survive a nuclear explosion. Cockroaches, Keith Richards and 520's

Anyone here have any views on the PDM 530's?

My 520's took a beating in a race in Grabouw - lots of rocky technical single track  ...so probably need to look at something with a bit more "protection" for the future.

Or is the cage around the pedal just unnecessary weight?

Sorry for hi-jack KlotzC!
