That is still cheap.  Wait till you put together a Audio Note Kondo system with some Living Voice Vox Olympian speakers.  10 Bar gone out of your wallet, quite easily.

How does the sound from that Avid table compare to the sound from a Linn LP12?  My LP12 is OK, but sometimes I feel that the upper/mid bass is just a tad too pronounced.

It's hard to pin it.

The arm and cartridge combination all have an impact.

Saying that, the Avid Diva did most things better than most "vintage" turntables I ever heard, including an LP 12 but not better than the Goldmund Sudietto I had for a while.

The Volvere makes the Diva sound pale in comparison, the Sequel upgrade puts this Volvere Sequel up against it's direct competitors the SME 20/12 and 30/10 and it runs comfortably next to them .

But in all honesty, the biggest impact a system will have ,comes from the cartridge .

Evaaaaaaaa,

I'm looking for another frisby player, if you know of one ;)

Will let you know, I think I have some connections .

The bottom line is, there is now way right now and far in to the future I would be able to afford an Avid Volvere Sequel, I got vert lucky with this one .
