Finally some movement here on the forum :)

With two weeks to go, the Western Cape woke up ;)

Guys please see this as YOUR series, we've waited a couple years to get the sponsors sold... let's tell all your friends & clubs about it so we can make it big over the next year!

The Cape really needs this!

Also send me suggestions / comments of what you want and want to see!

We're not called Slaapstad for nothing :)

I really hope this series takes off, I'm sure the numbers will be there

Unfortunately ALL of the events this year clash with other stuff I planned - this one we will be on our way to Sani2C...

Hopefully next year I can do most..

We have actual mountains in the Cape. Not molehills. Roadies are very scared of them.

last i checked the spruit was higher than any of your little CT bumps......

Hi Wessel,

Will there be an official Subvet cat?  And if so will it be 30-34 as well as 35-39 or all together as 30-39?

At the world Marathon Champs in Cascades 2014 it was 30-34 and 35-39. (Subvet A and Subvet B)

Trying to enter this race.

It only takes me to where you must tick the box which distance you want to enter, and then kicks me back to the previous page where your Info is recorded.

I have strong suspicion it will only be 30-39, that I based on last years WC champs where there was only 1 Sv cat winner at the 7weekspoort race.

Event Name: Nissan Trailseeker #1 Helder Berg

When: 9 May 2015

Where: Ridgemor Villa, R102 Kuilsriver Road | Firgrove, S, Western Cape

Category: MTB

We are glad to announce the first event in a new series of four events in the Western Cape, that will make up the offical Western Cape Marathon Mountain bike series for 2015. The series is targeted at the young, the novice and the family but also for the experienced rider. The routes are aimed to be fun and friendly, no technical and specialised bits that only the pro's can ride. The series caters for those looking to get into mountian biking as a sport, the weekend riders and the family conscious.

But with great TV coverage, good prize money with provincial points up for grabs, the serious riders are drawn in to compete into a festival of mountian biking.

The first event in the new series takes place on the trails between Somerset West and Stellenbosch the homeground of the Wannabees Cycling Club. The routes cross many of the famous wine farms in the area, and will be a fast paced route showcasing the beautiful green rolling hills of the area.

The trails have been laid out over the past two to three years and features dual track, gravel roads and short sections of single track that anyone can enjoy!

Come and share a this great new experience in a new area. We'll bring great meals and snacks, while you share the battle scars and war stories with your mountain bike buddies.
