What surprises be is how everyone fell for this CSA b@llshit forcing everyone to take out a full racing license.I can race SA'S on my R75 CSA license but need to pay R350 and take out a full racing license for TOGH.

Don't give me this UCI sanctioned or UCI points BS.You can do Cape Epic and a host of other

Uci accredited races without the full racing license.

It is the usual stunt by CSA ,see soft targets, nail them the day before the race, easy money.

How many riders entered X R350.

Nice one CSA.

BS - you cant do SA's or Cape Epic on just CSA membership alone , if you did you were'nt caught and lucky to get away with it - entry forms state full domestic racing license required if you are in a UCI category ie junior,Elite,Vets. masters and u16's dont need full license as they are not uci category. facts man get the facts.

Is there at least an explanation to explain the thinking behind this change.

I think the pre warning (or lack of it) is exactly the problem.

I think whichever way they do it shouldn't really matter provided all concerned parties was fully aware of the rule.

Their tweet this evening seems to indicate the original rule?

He did not say he was riding in one of the UCI cats in the TOGH or that he rode the Epic or other UCI sanctioned races in one either. And it is good that you defend the useless CSA, somebody has to. Same as Zumta also has his supporters.

All I know. The complaints this year is alot less than last year at the same stage on social media. I did the Tour De Boland last year and due to work I could not do the TOGH this year.

Guys rather focus on the racing and forget about the problems. Problems will always arise no matter what. Panorama tour for example the times is only published and pinned onto the wall at registration venue after 17:00. So is the timing such a huge problem. Yes it can be better but give some slag to ASG. I don't hear you guys complain about the safety, hospitality, etc? Only about the timing and registration. It's not the tours organizers stupidity to find accommodation an hour away of the starting venue!!!!

I will anytime take TOGH above Tour De Boland. ASG do sort out problems while Mr. Lemmer ran away and did the blame game on social media last year. Playing victim!! Yes he might laugh now but to have an event of only about 50 riders!! Thats a club ride. So thats easy to plan and arrange.

Rather enjoy the tour and laugh at our poor souls that sit in the office and are so jealous of you guys!!!!!

Dick , your **** are obscuring your vision - he said he can do blah blah blah , i said if you did blah blah blah. dont blame the CSA , blame ASG for not reading up on the rules.

That's like saying that its Apartheid's fault that Eskom is in the kuc now. The bottom line is ASG tried to put the mess of TdB on Lemmer, while now it is very apparent that it was not the only factor in the chaos previously. A lapse in safety would mean a shut-down of a stage or the entire event, while poor communication, last minute rule changes, timing issues, route changes and all the other shortcomings mentioned here does not impact on ASG's bottom line (for this year at least).

By the way: It is pretty "normal" to arrange accommodation as central and affordable as possible. Many teams try to have 1 base for the event as checking in and out is problematic at best if you are supposed to be racing.

The pro's might be back next year (only because they pretty much have to be there) but the only occurrence of stupidity would be if the non-pros return without any real assurances and guarantees that the issues would be sorted out.

I just wish that our local media would grow a pair and call a spade a spade. I just know that the weekly cycling magazine show on Supersport will be all about the racing and scenic route, with nothing about what was a real disappointment for the paying participants in this event. Fortunately we have bikehub for people to provide honest feedback about events like this.

Accusations? I have quite a few friends who are riding and their comments echo the sentiment on here. Not sure why I am now under fire for asking for the organisers to take some responsibility.

Well what I see and read on social media by pro's and sub vet's is that they enjoying the TOGH and don't complain about it, except for the very few like your buddy's it seems. Just maybe that they complain to quickly or try to find fault. Also as soon as 1 in a group starts to complain some will just repeat his comment and the whole situation is getitng out of hand then.

I'm not sure why route chance had to be done but my gut feel says because of all the student unrest the metro police and police of stellenbosch area wanted to make sure they had enough police members if the event of problems arise and not focus on keeping cyclist safe. If that is the case then ASG did the right thing to change the route.

I was last year 1 of the guys that had the most complaints. Out of my own experience. Sonette from ASG was the only 1 from both parties that answered my phone calls and also when I left messages she did phone me back in less than 20min!! Where Lemmer and his partner cancelled my calls when I phoned them.

So you say you one can only have a one sided debate and if others don't agree it is not fair??? As you brought in politics. You sound just like our friends the EFF playing victim.

ASG I can promise your will take responsibility but 1st the problems must be addressed and sorted out. Not like Lemmer and partner did by running away and written the massive post on FB last year by trying to shift the responsibility away from them.

I am asking Patch to clarify which accusations I am making. Possibly he quoted the wrong post? ASG did not take any responsibility last year, and already they have blamed riders, CSA and Metro Police for the current cock-ups.

I see now how they take responsibility.
