I ordered my Panda Bib via the website contact details and it was delivered to me in Cape Town fairly quickly.

I prefer the Anatomic bibs, the padding last longer than a year and is also very comfortable.

I have had a few first acsent bibs and found that the padding lasts about a year, even though i am rotating though 8 pairs of shorts (fair weather rider).

Hey, just one word of caution. I went for the First Ascent pro elites and loved them as I found the pad was very comfortable compared to their other pads and shorts that I have always ridden in. However, for me, they were not very durable and lasted somewhere between 6 to 12 months before getting holes in the area around the pad... I have a number of bibs/shorts and so did not wear the First Ascents all the time so I don't think overuse was the reason for the rapid deterioration. However, I also have a pair of Craft performance "the hub" bib shorts purchased just after the First Ascents that have lasted much longer and are still going strong... Therefore, maybe consider Craft as a viable alternative??? Or perhaps these which I also have a pair of and seem to be of excellent quality so far (had them for about 3 months now): http://www.sportsworld.co.za/product.php?id_product=758

However, again, the First Ascents were very comfortable while they lasted so it is up to you :-).

Cheers.

I have a couple of pairs of those that I use for training and they have been very comfy.

NO baggies on road.

NO lycra off road.

NO bibs full stop.

Bibs everywhere.

I dont care what the fashion police say when Im feeling more comfy than they are :P

Does the sports world website actually work? Been trying to get a hold of them for a while but no luck. Also have a nasty habit of getting wary of websites that aren't updated regularly (Copyright 2013?) Haha. But shot for the advice.

Yes, it works.  I bought from SportsWorld earlier this week.  They responded immediately, and my order arrived the next day (in Cape Town).  The web site was updated immediately because they were sold out of the item that I ordered after my order.

there used to be a Vitality discount card for usage at Totalsports / Adidas - called HEALTHY GEAR now.

This card can now be used at Sportsman's Warehouse.

You select the vendor on the discovery health website under vitality - see link below.

Cannot remember how I got the card, sorry.

Everyone starts with 10% cashback

if you do one of those BP/sugar/cholesterol tests AND the fitness test, you can get the cashback up to 25%.

I am not sure whether the cashback is for all products at SW, tho, so please check.

https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/vitality-healthygear-benefit

I don't work for disco or SW, so the above may contain errors

  • 3 years later...

I'll be receiving my fa pro elite shorts soon, will drop a post, had a cheapie pair for the last year, so thought I'd invest in some proper tush cush. Been cycling for just about a year, mtb. Check in over a week or so, BTW, cyclelab running a special on these for R799.99
