I have been moved into VC. Very nice of the race organizers to do that. I have been working hard but seedings always lag a bit obviously. I feel much safer in VC where I know a lot of the guys.

Looking forward to the race. Hard but fun I think.

How do you get into the V(x)'s anyway..?

I'm always AL or lower...

Officially your times must be within 20% of winner with a racing licence.

Two years ago the racing license was not required and according to CSA rules still not but the organisers apply the rule.

But I would say be within 10% ratherotherwise you just heard and then ride alone.

Also you must be old enough.

Buy a racing license and get your seeding up. Needs to be better than 20 to get into VC I am told. Better than that for VB and VA of course. But you need to buy a license.

Thanks, already have the racing license, just need to push on the times then.

Thats more an age thing, not a seeding thing. Most races VA = 30-39, VB 40-49, VC 50-59.

Bigger races they split it by 5 years.

I understand that.

What I mean is it is you need a better seeding to make your age cat if you are VA than if you are VC because VA are younger and faster

Total waste on sunblock. Was sitting comfortably in the lead group of VC that had already been whittled down to about a third when at the 15 to 20 km mark on a downhill slammed into a pothole. Managed to stay upright but punctured front and back and lost both water bottles. Brand new camelbaks. Managed to find one of them. Never had two tubes so phoned for a rescue

A bit disappointed. I was going quite well.

Was a hard race finished with a 2:22. Got dropped on the wil nico turn off. What 800 meters of climbing strava says 1150.

Btw picked up a black a blue gamin Edge 800. If you can prove its urs you can have it 074 603 0718

I have never had such bad luck in any race or during any ride.

Soloed home, and just decided to take it easy today.

Will do it again, but it was tougher than I thought. Strava says 1200m elevation gain, and I always knew that 800m was wishful thinking...

Did an entry swop from a sick friend yesterday so was an unexpected event for me.did the event on my SS and had an enjoyable ride from the HL start even though i broke a spoke 30km in. .. came over the line with a chilled 3.30.

I ended up doing a 3h43 on my 29er.That was a really tough race. The last half hurt, I can see why the route gets so much hate.

I hoped for a sub 4,so I'm happy.

Officially my most hated race (lol).. no drama but damn...

Started in A and Cramped from the 15 km mark, by the time we hit the turnaround C bunch had caught and passed me ..

By the 90km mark the legs totally locked up and i had to stop ... looked like i was lord of the dance on the side of the road trying to find a position that didnt cause tears of pain.

Just about managed a 3h30 with most of the bunches flying past me  ..

Great job to the guys that made it look so easy, and thanks again to all the hubbers for the greetings that were totally motivating, definitely added value to my day
