Looking for a Maxxis Ardent and Ikon 26" tire in CT. Seems places tend to only list 29" tires on the web etc. ie CWC.

Who should carry stock and at a decent price?

Chain Reaction Cycles or Planet X, that's where I get all my 26'er tyres in Cape Town! :)

Actually Evobikes and Sportsworld are stocking some 26er rubber and if people make enough noise I hope at least 1 shop will get the message that they can make coin supplying  the ginger step child that is a 26er rider.

Oddly you can still fond a lot of Maxxis at Sportsmans warehouse, might be good to pop in and see them and they can search across all their stores for you.

Sportsmans online show Ardent and Ikon in 29" but only Crossmark and Monorail in 26"

With no Tokai and Jonkershoek I want to try save the NN's I have fitted on my Trance, they are slow and wear fast. An overkill for Table Mountain jeep track and Tygerberg areas

Action Cycles seem to stock Minion DHR tubeless AM tyres at times if you want some tough trail/am rubber.

Just popped in there now. They say there is no chance of finding 26er Ardents in sa....sounds like a distributor short sightedness

jeez... wonder what you'd think of my bronson / wolverine combo that I've got on my trance hoops for the same areas! :)

Same thing for Ikons. I normally bring them in from either CRC, Wiggle or Evans, depending on who has what I need.

The Giant Durbanville store in Wellington Road carries stock of the Vittoria Saguaro TnT 26x2.20 tires. If you are looking for something more agressive, they also have stock of the Vittoria Goma TnT 26x2.4 tires available.

I've got Maxxis Crossmark and High Roller 26ers in stock.

Or Schwalbe Rapid Robs.

Ardent or Ikon only in 29er though.

Let me know if you're interested.

@dirtypot Was looking for some High Roller II. But what you want for those High Rollers?

I found some Michelin Dry Country tyres in my cupboard so going to give that a go on the back for a bit and see what happens.

I've been stock piling 26er tyres since they were claimed to be an endangered species by SA but am always looking for more. Mostly I've been hoarding trail tyres but have just sourced a Anthem for a friend and he needs more XC tyres.

@Dirtypot: what are those rapids going for?

26 x 2.1 - Maxxiss High Roller XC – Wire Bead = R440.00

26 x 2.1 – Schwalbe Rapid Rob K guard Black = R360.00

26 x 2.25 – Schwalbe Rapid Rob K guard Black/White = R380.00

And just to complete the offering - Maxxis Crossmark Lust Tubeless - 26 x 2.25 = R575.00
