I see on the website it is not compatible with the sram xx1 cassette, does anyone know if there is a way to get it to work i.e. use another 11 speed cassette or any other alternative.

Again, no need to change gears so not sure why you would want 11 speed...

I don't want to change gears, I am just assuming my 11 speed chain won't fit the 10 speed cassette. Am I incorrect?

Wow, lots of responses. Seems as if it is the way to go, cost aside.

Those who have one, can you pre-program a session.

For instance, a warm up and then threshold intervals at a specific watts or hills at a specific % gradient??

Anybody know where I can get a mount for my Ipad to attach it to the handlebars when using the Kickr? Sorry to move away from the topic, I also want to get one but that is something I would want with it.

You put an 11 speed cassette on. Although not an xx1 one, but you wouldn't want to anyway because of the cost.

Go a music shop and get a microphone stand, and then there's a million options for ipad/phone /laptop mounts to fit to the stand.

Personally I wouldn't mount an ipad directly to my bars because I like to drape a hand towel completely over my handlebars. You sweat a lot riding these things!

I have one. Had it for over 6 months. I use either my Scale HT or Camber D/S on it. Mostly the Scale. Bulletproof, easy to use, reliable. It's not noisy but not quiet either. The Wahoo App is really good and is what I use mostly, although I have used Strava Segments App, Kinomap and a few others. My favorite feature is that you remove the back wheel. The feel you get from the chain, cassette is far more natural. You can also really crank up the watts without the tire slipping.

CycleOps Virtual Trainer app (and probably some other apps too, but CVT is the one I use) lets you do this. You can build workouts around watts, or % of FTP, or W/kg, or % grade. I've done mine around % of FTP so that the workouts stay consistent as my FTP rises or drops.

TTS4 catalyst allows the same, but maybe not as extensively. Haven't needed more that what TTS offers.

Is it easy to get going? I am not really experienced with things like FTP etc, although I have been riding for 15 years I am not really scientific. I would like to improve this though, but worry if I get the tranier I won't even know where to start, so will just ride it like a R2k trainer?

Very simple to get started .You need to be able to download the app and have a Bluetooth enabled phone or tablet .Once the app picks up the kickr the rest is really easy .You can use the kickr with it's own app to do all your training or use maps like Kinomap ext.
