My first build

So I decided to build a bike. It seems to be a common desire amongst hubbers. I thought that my next bike will be built by me. It will add to the joy of riding.

Hubbers (Citizencycles and Edge_Design - both good guys worth supporting) provided the frame (Edge design carbon), shifters, and deraillers (Tiagra 4600 10sp - new). Thanks to CWC's one day sale I got the cassette (105 11-28) and chain (ultegra) at -50%. And Cyclosport provided the 105 compact crank and BB (also huge bargain).

The rest of the parts I sources from my old bike. The wheels, seat, bar, stem, calibers and bottle cages were late additions and therefore still newish (although not carbon light but ok).

So here goes

Thanks. Oh I must add, I had a friend helping with the cables and setup.... Would have taken me considerably longer without help.

What this will also teach you is how components go together and how to better maintain and do your own maintenance.

Nice build and am sure you had a lot of fun doing it... The only problem now is .... It becomes a habit and will want to build more... Even strip and upgrade.

Enjoy the additional feeling of enjoying the ride you built... Happy miles!!

Went for test ride no.1 up my favorite hill (Devan valley). What a joy to ride! Love it.

Still fine tuning to do to hit that derailler sweetspot, but otherwise the bike rides beautifully.
