I am experiencing extreme difficulty in attempting to courier a bike to JHB.  All the companies were given the same dimensions etc (the have never transported a bike before) and the quotes vary from R1000 to R13000!!!!

This is Durban at its best!  Best price an'ol....wont bluff youooo!

Help, any suggestions.

Rant over.

Hi Sepia, Cycle Lab has a deal with some or other courier and will do a cycle job for R250 per bike.

That is what they quoted me last year July, worth a try?

I used SA cargo Last. Was much cheaper than any courier I could find

Thanks for this but I wish they would answer the phone.

Timefreight should ask you not more than R300. They work on kg not measurements.

They wanted R473.00 unpacked and the bike is not that heavy.  They wanted EXACT measurements for the conversion to KG which worked out to 20kg. But thanks for the input.

Fed Ex just hit me over R7000 to ship a box with 2 carbon rims (1.4kg) from Washington DC to Durban. Yes. R7250.00. They are the devil.

That sounds cheap!!!!

Relax, I was quoted R980 up R1300 to send a frame  to PE!!!

Took Time Freight 3 days to collect.

It seems like a "take it or leave it" attitude here in KZN.

Sending to KZN does not seem a problem but the wheels fall off when it hits Durban and surrounds.

Worst service ever!

I could have flown myself to the US for that price.
