In a recent blog for Cyclingnews, Tinkov was critical of Peter Sagan's spring Classics campaign but praised him after he snatched overall victory at the Tour of California on Sunday. Sagan moved to the Russian team for the 2015 season and became one of the most expensive signings in cycling history with an estimated salary of 4 million Euro ($4.5 million) per season. In the interview withGazzetta dello Sport, Tinkov confirmed he is investigating if he has the legal grounds to cut Sagan's salary. "

maybe he should make a call to Abromovich and see where Sagan sits in the list against the Chelsea squad first.

ok. so Peter Sagan at about GBP3m per year is not even in the top 10!

After the nail biter of a Tour of Cali I cannot see why Tinkov is being a D1ck about it!

its possible blog entry was written before the final stage, I also think the decision was influenced by the string of 2nd & 3rd place finishes he had in the Spring Classics & TOC.

It's possible that he is just a doosh.

Maybe the reason he does not perform up to his potential is because he is not happy there.....

Well I think he has shut stinkov up with his TOC performance. .. for now in any case

possible but who knows what the agreement was between the 2, for all we know Sagan could've over-sold himself promising 1st place finishes like he had at Cannondale, he didn't deliver to that promise & Oleg will cut the paycheck now? Who knows I guess we in Hubberville will never know the truth.

Oleg wanted podium achievements for the Classics at least.

From a performance point of view, Sagan failed.

Hopefully, they had an agreement in place that his salary might be sliced if he doesn't reach these objectives.

He might a crazy billlionaire

I sure do appreciate his contribution to cycling
