Given it was a lot more riding than building but this is still one of my new favourites.

I loved how creative some of the trail features were. You could argue that its nothing you haven't seen before but what struck me was how personalized these features were. I was watching riders execute new challenges they've carved out for themselves. When we see them nail it. Its probably on the umpteenth attempt.

Kind of like a video game. You have to do this bit to move on. You can't skip it or walk it.

So keep trying. Some of those bits gave me the impresssion that if I were riding it for the first time I'd have to stop and wonder what the hell I have to do to progress to the next part of this trail.  Or I'd stop and say. Hell no. Watch the riding on some of the trails and try and imagine just how possible it would be to actually walk it up in reverse before your first attempt. Some trail features certainly weren't traditionally restricted to the ground only.

Fair enough there was alot of 'filler' riding in between the good bits. Awesome, but nothing we haven't seen before. But the film itself wasn't just that. There are too many videos like that already.

I think what we were expecting was a documentary which paid tribute to the long hours builders put in to ride a feature that only takes seconds. Only to have to go back and fix that same bit again and again. Not enough emphasis was put on this. While this was a disappointment to me. The film wasn't. Watch it again.

I recently watched Pathfinder. It mashes enduro riding with the part of mountain biking many of us have forgotten. Exploring. If you're sick of watching pro's wax trails they know by heart. Watch this. Makes you wanna get out there and see what the world's slopes has to offer

One of the criticisms of Where The Trail Ends was just the opposite. Not enough big moves and action. That's not what it was about; it was about riding the unridden, and for that reason, I kinda dug it.

Sad I missed Builder. And it's a pity we don't seem to get any premieres here anymore.

They used to bring these movies to the Bioscope in Maboneng but it seems it doesn't happen anymore so not sure where I can get a hold of the copy. Anyone know?

I enjoyed having the movies there. Great nights out.
