Cassette wobble

Hi All,

Recently changed cassette (10sp slx) and have noticed a slight wobble when the wheel turns.

Its not major but still noticeable. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced this?

The cassette is tightened sufficiently. Could it be a hub issue?

Thanks.

Freehubs that bolt on to the hub (cup and cone bearings) as opposed to the type that run on the axle with sealed cartridge bearings can develop significant play before they become dis functional.  If it is relatively silent and smooth I wouldn't stress too much.

There is no significant noise and the gears shift up and down ok.

Still trying to get the indexing right on the rd as its not super smooth but not sure if the slight wobble plays a part but surely it should not wobble at all?

Quick RD question: when on the smallest cog, the cable is a littl slack but if I take the slack out out I can't get the gears to shift nicely but when its a little slack it shifts ok.

Also I might at some point have tightened the barrel adjusted too far in, I used pliers.

Could this have caused damage as when I adjust with the adjuster the gears adjust as expected but the adjuster is just really tight now and have to put in some arm effort to turn it?

The cups and cones can be a bit loose just tighten them, or your freehub body can be a bit loose remove axle and tighten with no8 allen key or it may be broken . just buy a new one.

Finally managed to get the axel out and after gathering up all my balls, I cannot see how to remove the freehub.

Is a non removable one or are those groves on the inside, either side, a way to remove it?

Please help.
